Hot Chocolate Station

We have a couple of traditions every single year during the holidays. The first one is that the day after Thanksgiving we set up our Christmas tree and take out all our decorations and decorate our home. We listen to Christmas music all day long and just spend time together making our home festive and eating from canape trays all day long.

This is my favorite time of the year because everyone is so full of joy and kindness and grace seems to flow so much more freely from everyone. The holiday celebrations are in full swing and the midwest is fully in already in deep freeze. When the city freezes over, it is time to setup our annual Hot Chocolate Station and this year I had some help from Vitamix.
This is obviously our second yearly tradition—a Hot Chocolate Station—one is really needed here in Chicago, because winters in this city are no joke. Once my children see the Hot Chocolate station setup, they are so excited to see what I may have included this year and make a cup of chocolate to warm themselves.
It really doesn’t feel like the holidays have officially begun until the Christmas tree is up, the house is fully decorated and the Hot Chocolate Station is ready for everyone. I usually am able to locate some fun treats during the holidays to add to our Hot Chocolate Station and this year is no exception.

Setting up a Hot Chocolate Station in your home couldn’t be easier. Select a central location and add a few festive decorations as well as all your favorite toppings. This is all your really need for a successful Hot Chocolate Station in your home. I was able to locate some fun treats to add to our hot chocolate this year.
I have to say the Vitamix Aer Disc Container is my NEW FAVORITE product! The Vitamix Aer Disc Container has made my life so much easier. I like to cook and bake and I make a lot of dishes from scratch, sauces and toppings etc. That means I stand over a hot stovetop, whisking away, to make the perfect sauce, ensuring it doesn’t break or I don’t overheat it or over whisk it. I don’t have to do that any longer now that I have the Vitamix Aer Disc Container!!

The Vitamix Aer Disc Container whips, emulsifies, muddles and foams. My arm is thanking me everyday and I am thanking Vitamix. I mean, my arms could use the daily work out, but really, I love the Vitamix Aer Disc Container! I made homemade hollandaise sauce this past weekend and IT WAS PERFECT! The perfect temperature, the perfect consistency and the most perfect color and taste. I have never been able to do that before without breaking a sweat!
But, the real love and adoration for the Aer Disc Container came when I made my kids homemade Whipped Cream. All I can say is, once you make your very own version of homemade Whipped Cream in the Vitamix Aer Disc Container — you literally will NEVER, ever purchase a can of whipped cream from the grocer, every again. IT IS SO GOOD! And, it is so simple!
Homemade Whipped Cream made in the Vitamix Aer Disc Container literally took me all of 60 seconds. It is simpler to make in the Aer Disc Container and it is less expensive to make homemade whipped cream as well. It stores easily in a container in the refrigerator and lasts for a couple of days—unless you are my children who happen to eat it by the spoonful!
Homemade Whipped Cream Recipe
INGREDIENTS
3 cups heavy cream
1/3 c sugar
OPTIONAL: few drops of flavored extracts (I used peppermint)
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour the heavy cream into the Vitamix Aer Disc Container. Pour the sugar in next. Add optional flavored extract. Place the lid and secure. Select the lowest setting and start your Vitamix. Gradually ncrease to the highest speed and run for 45 seconds to 1 minute.
NOTE: It really does 1 minute!!
Now, you can also make your very own hot chocolate in the Vitamix Aer Disc Container as well and it could not be simplier. My kids are able to make their own hot chcolate now that they are a bit older. Using the Vitamix Aer Disc Container is so much easier than using the stovetop, which is still a bit intimidating for my tween and teens.
Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe
INGREDIENTS
2 cups milk (of your choice)
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour the milk into the Vitamix Aer Disc Container, and then pour the chocolate chips into the container second. Place the lid securely andselect the lowest setting. Start the machine on the lowest setting and slowly increase to the highest speed setting. Let your Vitamix run for 6 minutes. HOT CHOCOLATE! YES - it is hot and ready to drink - no need to place in the microwave!
That is it! I mean, it could not be any easier!
