Are you ready for the Ant-Man & The Wasp DVD release October 16th? I have the perfect way to celebrate the DVD release with an Ant Size Night In for a Family Movie Night at home with your children. Watching movies together as a family allows everyone in the family to share some fun, some laughs and a whole lot of joy.
Sometimes it is hard to come up with an inexpensive, at-home activity to keep everyone in the family engaged since I have two teenagers and one tween. I always want to spend quality time with my children because we are so busy outside of the home and our family time together is getting very precious to me. At times, my brain is a bit exhausted and I can't come up with anything creative or new for all of us to do together.
Here is where the release of a DVD comes in super handy. I can easily create a themed family movie night based on the title of the DVD. Obviously, my theme for our Ant Size Night In for Family Movie Night is just that, an Ant Size Night In. Clever right? To have a family movie night, you really only need a few things to pull off a great evening at home.

Now, I never met a potato chip I didn’t love. Truth! I love potato chips, just about any kinds, except baked, I do not like baked chips, because, they aren’t really potato chips! When I lived in China I desperately missed American potato chips because there are some really odd flavors in Asia! But, my holy grail of potato chips are jalapeno kettle chips. I love super crunchy and super spicy chips! My son loves kettle chips too, but his favorite is salt and vinegar, which I’m not so fond of. And my daughters love the plain kettle chips with chip dip. So, I thought, why not make some nachos with out favorite kettle chips!
KETTLE CHIP NACHOS
Ingredients
1 bag plain kettle potato chips
1 bag jalapeno kettle potato chips
Taco Meat (make your favorite)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
Avocado, chopped
Tomato, chopped
Mango, chopped
2 tsp hot sauce (OPTIONAL)
1 thinly sliced jalapeno (OPTIONAL)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper. Spread chips out in a single layer. I spread half plain kettle chips and half jalapeno kettle chips on the sheet pan.
Make your favorite taco meat. I made chicken meat and pork meat. I have an ethnic grocer near me that makes amazing chicken, pork and beef taco meat. I simply bring it home and saute our choice of the day and use this. Feel free to make your favorite taco meat for this recipe.
Spread shredded cheese all over the chips. Use as much or as little as you like. Bake in the preheated over until the cheese is melted, approximately 5-8 minutes.
Top with your cooked taco meat.
Top with your favorite toppings. Use black beans, tomatoes, avocados, mangoes, jalapenos, sour cream, salsa or whatever are your favorites.
Family night is about spending quality time together. The activities are the added bonus. Remember to set aside some quality time often for your family and all other obligations should take a back seat.
