What little 'tricks' do your children perform to get their way?

Question of the Day ~ What little 'tricks' do your children perform to get their way?

I'll never forget my friend telling me how her neighbor would say to her kids "Until you are 18, I own the air you BREATHE!" Loved that one!

I presumed my Motherly Power would last well into the tween years, but Lordy Lord - can 5 and 6-year-old children really have the finesse and savvy to begin challenging the status quo? Like mine already do? And I don't mean multi-colored tantrums and fuchsia fits - I mean, really sophisticated mood-bending and brain-twisting games.

My daughter will bat her beautiful hazel eyes at me and say "Momma, I need to tell you something" and the con is on . . .

My son will tell me how much he loves me and how I am the prettiest mom he has ever seen and the con is on . . .

My daughter will sit on my lap and give me hugs and kisses and she is not the snuggling type and the con is up!

My son will do something amazing without me asking, like picking up his dirty clothes and making them into the laundry basket. I will tell him great job and he will say "what is my reward?"

It's started....
