Mei Mei & Jie Jie
My daughter, Jie Jie, will walk around our home everyday barking out orders to baby girl, Mei Mei, all day long and little baby girl will do whatever big sister says!
(is this a good thing?)
"Mei Mei, come here."
"Mei Mei, hold this."
"Mei Mei, don't touch that."
"Mei Mei, come here NOW!"
"Mei Mei, hold this now, and this one too."
"MEI MEI, DON'T TOUCH THAT, IT'S MINE!"
"Mei Mei, it's time to go potty."
"Mei Mei, eat all your lunch now."
"Mei Mei, you can't have any more juice."
"Mei Mei, come here!"
Equally heard in our house is baby girl shouting for big sister.
"Jie Jie, where are you?"
"Jie Jie, play with me."
"Jie Jie, that's mine."
"Jie Jie, I do it myself."
"Jie Jie, No, that's mine."
For instance this one particular afternoon last week, as I was calling "Mei Mei, look at Momma". Jie Jie took over for me, choking baby girl in the process. But I was able to get some cute pictures without Mei Mei looking at the camera.
I smile because you are my sister-I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it!
Sisters are for keeps
Love between sisters is an amazing development to watch. A sister's love is special
in oh so many ways. I never thought in a million years that I would be a mother to a daughter, let alone two daughters. I always considered myself a boy momma, before I had children. But I can't imagine my life without pink bows and bonnets, silky princess dresses, sparkly shoes, lip gloss kisses and of course, Tiaras & Tantrums!
A Sister is God's way of proving He doesn't want us to walk alone.
Mei Mei means Younger Sister and Jie Jie means Elder Sister in Chinese.
