Thanksgiving Dessert Board
Put together a beautiful, simple Thanksgiving Holiday Dessert Board this fall season. A Thanksgiving Dessert Board is one of the easiest desserts and perfect for entertaining guests this holiday. Fill a Thanksgiving Dessert Board with all your favorite cookies and candies.
I actually love to put together a themed holiday platter or holiday dessert board for my kiddos for every holiday. Check out my July 4th Dessert Board, Valentine’s Dessert Platter, and my St Patrick’s Day Candy Board. Here is my Fall Dessert Board from last year that I made to celebrate a movie release for Family Movie Night. A themed Dessert Board works so well around a family movie night. Just create a dessert board around the theme of the movie.
That is why I adore putting together a holiday dessert platter and holiday dessert boards — it is the easiest way to put together a quick dessert idea for just about any day of the year! Either make your very own themed or holiday desserts OR take the easy path and head to your favorite local stores in your area to gather all the themed or holiday goodies you can locate!
Right around October, all the yummy delicious fall dessert popup in my favorite stores. Sometimes you have to be really quick or all the limited snacks and goodies disappear before you have an opportunity to purchase anything. Fall themed cupcakes and cookies will pretty much be out for the full months of October and November, so I am always able to get some really great fall desserts for a dessert board.
This year for my Thanksgiving Dessert Board, I shopped at a few of my favorite local grocers and once I had all my cookies, treats, snacks, and candies, I was able to put together a fun holiday-themed dessert platter.
HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A DESSERT BOARD
Here is where really anything goes! Everyone’s tastes are subjective, so what you may love and adore, we might not. So select all the treats your family adores. I recommend a good variety if you are putting out this Thanksgiving Dessert Board for a gathering. Then you will likely be able to put desserts on your board that everyone can enjoy. and the more variety the better.
Adding fresh fruit or dried fruits are a huge plus as well. Some people don’t like sugary desserts, but they adore sugary fruits and dried fruits. Nuts also do really well on dessert platter because then everyone gets the savory with the sweet and they don’t feel so bad.
So, once you have decided on all your treats and snacks to add to your Thanksgiving Dessert Board, just keep in mind that dessert boards really are basically the same as cheese plates or charcuterie boards — JUST with desserts instead. I gather all my desserts and open the packages and lay them all out and just begin adding big cookies and filling in with the smaller spots with the smaller treats. Add and subtract as you need, move like colors apart for a good contrast.
