These sweets will give your guests the sugar high they need to cheer on their teams to victory or numb the pain of defeat.
My husband is a huge game day fan. He can be caught shouting at the television, jumping for joy at a particular move and eating all the food I put in front of him. I may not be a huge fan of the big games, but I can provide tasty treats and sweets all days long for my husband, our friends, our family and my children. Snacks for the adults, SNICKERS® treats for everyone and sweets for the kiddos.
Everyone gets so excited about all the great food served during game day, but they always forget to highlight the best foods to serve. I put equal weight into the foods and snacks as I do the yummy desserts for my guests! Here is a great recipe of an all time American favorite.
SNICKERS® Cheesecake
Cheesecakes are among the most decadent of desserts, best savored slowly in between game day plays. They are easy to make as they consist of eggs, sugar and cheese. The difficulty lies in the baking of the cake made of cheese. One can not simply poke a toothpick into a cheesecake to see if it is done baking. Instead, you must simply eyeball it and pull it from the oven thinking that it is clearly, visibly, not done--but it is!
SNICKERS® Cheesecake Recipe
For the Crust:
- 30 chocolate wafer cookies (whole)
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the Cheesecake:
- 32 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon real vanilla extract
- 30 mini SNICKERS® bars, quartered (you will need an entire bag of 19.50 oz of Mini SNICKERS®)
- ¼ cup chocolate sauce
- ¼ cup caramel sauce
For the Topping:
Whipped Cream
Chopped SNICKERS® bars
Hot fudge sauce
Hot Caramel sauce
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
The Crust: Place the chocolate wafer cookies in a food processor until ground into fine crumbs. Add the melted butter and pulse until the mixture is evenly moistened. Press the crumb mixture evenly and firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch spring-form pan(BE SURE to line with parchment paper first)and bake for 10 minutes in your preheated oven. Remove from oven and line pan with aluminum foil and set aside. Reduce over to 300 degrees.
The Cheesecake: Blend the cream cheese and sugar on low to medium speed (do not use high speed as this will cause your cheesecake to crack whilst baking) until smooth and creamy, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the egg whites one at a time, beating well until well blended. Add the heavy cream and vanilla and beat until well combined, still using low speed. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the chopped SNICKERS bars. Pour ½ of the cheesecake filling on top of the crust. Pour the chocolate and the caramel sauce on the filling and swirl sauces to combine into the filling. Pour the remaining cheesecake filling on top. Tap the spring-form pan on the counter to release any bubbles that may have formed.
Place your aluminum wrapped spring-form pan in another pan and fill ½ way with warm water. (the water should not go above the aluminum foil) Bake for 1½ hour, or until the edges are set, but the middle still jiggles a little. Turn the oven off and leave the door ajar. Leave the cheesecake in the oven for approximately another 20-30 minutes. Remove cheesecake from the water and set on a wire rack to cool completely. Once completely cool, place in refrigerate until firm (best if overnight).
The Topping: Remove the spring-form pan side and top the cheesecake with whipped cream, chopped SNICKERS bars and drizzles of hot fudge and hot caramel sauces.
SNICKERS® CHOCOLATE PAVLOVA
You can not beat a pavlova at a party. The crisp and chewy meringue base, rich in cocoa and beaded nuggets of Snickers : it is a killer combination. If you have never had a pavlova, now is the perfect time to bake one up in your kitchen. Pavlova's are super simple to make and usually only made in the summer time. However, I adore pavlova for their simplicity and their celebratory look. It looks like a meringue, but has this delicious chewy center that will have you diving for another slice. Since a Pavlova is so heavenly, you can bet there will not be any leftovers. Which is good, because a Pavlova loaded up with whip cream will lost its crispness by the next day.
SNICKERS® Chocolate Pavlova Recipe
For the base:
- 6 egg whites
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
For the Topping:
- 2¼ cups heavy cream
- 5-10 SNICKERS® - chopped coarsely
Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a baking tray with baking parchment. Beat the egg whites until satiny peaks form, and then beat in the sugar a spoonful at a time until the meringue is stiff and shiny. Sprinkle over the cocoa and vinegar and then gently fold everything until the cocoa is thoroughly mixed in. Mound on to a baking sheet in three 6 inch circles, smoothing the sides and top. Place in the oven, then immediately turn the temperature down to 300ºF and cook for about one to one and a quarter hours. When it's ready it should look crisp around the edges and on the sides and be dry on top. Turn off the oven and open the door slightly, and let the chocolate meringues cool completely.
Once cooled, place one meringue on a plate or serving platter. Whisk the cream until thick and place a few tablespoons on top of the meringue. Continue on with each meringue layer until you have used all three. Coarsely chop the SNICKERS® and sprinkle haphazardly over the top.
SNICKERS Overload Milkshake
Everyone needs something to wash down all the big Game day snacks and what could be better than a chocolate milkshake. A sweet, cold beverage to satiate anyone's thirst. When I was a kid, we could order milkshakes at the local counters of dime stores. But my kids are missing out this adventure, so I make them amazing SNICKERS Overload Milkshakes at home and serve them in fun glasses.
SNICKERS® Overload Milkshake Recipe
- ½ quart vanilla bean ice cream
- 2 tablespoons chocolate sauce
- 1 cup chocolate milk
- whip cream
- SNICKERS® -chopped coarsely
Spoon the ice cream and put it in a blender. Pour in chocolate sauce and milk and blend until you get the desired consistency. Pour into cool small bottles or shot glasses and garnish with whip cream and the chopped SNICKERS.
ENJOY!
