Taking a Break Over the Summer with #Netflix

This past school year was a whirlwind for me. I think I spent at least 2-4 hours, sometimes more, in the driver's seat, shuffling my kiddos from one activity to another. It was brutal. By the end of may, I was spent. Quite literally, my brain had finally fizzled out and died. Not really, but you get the idea.

Three kids schedules is a lot to manage in the suburbs, when every activity location is no less than 10 miles away from our home! That mean we have ½ to 1 hour of driving time to and then again from the activity. Sometimes activities overlapped and I was swooping in and out of parking lots like a raven, collecting children and (responsibly) rushing to the next activity and next kiddo.

But the beginning of June, I did not want to move. Except to get out of bed and go directly to a chair to sit and do nothing, but let my brain regenerate. I was in great need of decompressing and so were my children. My Kiddos had been schooling hard for 10 months, studying for long hours, practicing in huge amounts hours on instruments for concerts and lessons and they needed some time to do completely nothing!

Taking a Break Over the Summer with #Netflix

During the first couple of weeks of June, we literally laid around all day doing absolutely nothing. It didn't hurt that the weather outdoors was rainy and gloomy. We filled our days with Netflix Streaming, catching up on all our favorite episodes and shows that we missed due to our super busy, jam packed schedules during the school year.

Netflix has a wonderful Summer Passport to fill out for your kiddos in order to keep track of the visited shows. Every time Netflix transports you to a new culture or era, draw your own stamp to keep track of what you watched. Maybe you use a T-Rex “stamp” for The Dino King, or a Lucha Libre mask for Tales of Masked Men. Get Creative!!

Recently, Netflix introduced their first interactive “branching” narrative episodes with Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale and Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile. My Netflix Kids are in control of how the stories unfold. Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile is coming on July 14!

Interactive content on Netflix

Interactive content is a fun new way to experience Netflix. In each interactive title, you can make choices for the characters, shaping the story as you go! Each choice leads to a different adventure, so you can watch again and again, and see a new story each time. { Interactive content is available on many newer devices, including smart TVs, streaming media players, game consoles, and iOS devices running the latest version of the Netflix app }

What stamps will your kiddos add to their #Netflix Summer Passport?
