In a couple of weeks I will be gathering with my extended family to celebrate Thanksgiving.

A day of gratitude for all that my family has . . .

I have a house full of guests coming from near and far and I couldn't be more exited to be hosting and carrying on holiday traditions with the younger generations of my family.

My fridge will be full of goodies we will be eating up all day and evening long. One of my families favorite goodies to have on hand is the most delicious cheeses, sausages, nuts and fruit baskets from Hickory Farms.

I remember well as a child going to my grandmother's house for Thanksgiving. My grandmother always had such delicious treats out to nibble on while she cooked and sauced and made her home smell like heaven and cookies. She always had Hickory Farms baskets with the best pieces of sausage and most delectable cheeses. My mouth is literally watering at the thought.

She would always sit on one side of the table and my father on the other. I can see it clearly in my head now. She would nibble on some savory sausage slowly and my brothers and I would stuff ourselves silly with her delicious goodies.

My grandmother would sit in her chair and enjoy her family . . . my family . . . always . . . always she shed a tear or two or three . . . as a child I never quite understood why she would cry so quickly. But as an adult and a mother . . . I completely understand it all now.

My grandmother was thankful to have her only son sitting with her, she was thankful for her little grandbabies stuffing themselves with treats from Hickory Farms. She had joy in her heart that she was still able to provide such happiness to us all. I can say that whenever I think about my grandmother . . . it is always with joy in my heart . . . she gave me that to remember.

Many families, like mine have wonderful memories of Hickory Farms at their holiday gatherings. I'm so happy I will be passing down our holiday traditions this Thanksgiving to all the younger children while we create new memories as well.
