Free Summer Activities For Kids (or Nearly Free)
Summer is the best time to get out and about and participate in all the activities that you may not have the opportunity to get to during the school year. Here are FREE Summer Activities for Kids.
If you are like my family, our schedules are so full of music lessons and other activities during the school year we do not have much time for FUN activities. We try to select ONE FUN activity a week and the best part - - they are FREE!!
Here are some of the summer freebies that keep my children happy this summer.

Free Summer Movies
Free movie - Showcase Cinemas - Bring a book report (form is downloadable from website) on Wednesdays from July 8 - July 28, kids get in for free to see selected movies on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Parents who take their kid for the free movie get free admission as do children 6 years and younger without submitting a book report.

Free Bowling
KidsBowlFree DOT com - Register your kids for two free games of bowling all summer long at lanes across the country.
AMF Bowling - Register at AMF Bowling for free bowling for kids this summer, and you will receive a voucher each week for 2 free games per day through September 13.
Free Roller Skating
KidsSkateFree DOT com - Register your kids for coupons to skate free all summer long at rinks across the country. {We actually do this ALL year long!!}
Free Craft Activities
Michaels - Find free craft projects on various days throughout the month.
Lakeshore Learning Center - Free craft projects for kids every Saturday from 11 – 3 pm.
Vacation Bible School
Churches hold Vacation Bible School as an outreach of their ministries. Members of the church as well as non-members are invited for a free week of fun. In the past we have attended not less that FOUR VBS sessions with all our friends.
Free Library Events
Did you know there are even more activities for kids at the library that won't get them shushed? Most libraries offer free summer reading programs, which my kids are participating in. Our public library hosts many special events throughout the summer months. There is even a MineCraft session!
Free Museum Days
FREE Museum Admission - The Target First program brings FREE and reduced-price events around the country. These are usually the first weekend of a month, but check the calendar and locations near you to be sure.
FREE Museum Admission - Bank of America card holders can get free general admission to 150 museums nationwide the first full weekend of each month. Check to see what museums are free near you on their participant roster.
Free Summer Camps
Apple Summer Camps - Select Apple Retail stores hold summer camps where kids can make movies, create photo slideshows, write and record songs, put on a show for everyone, and learn how to do new things on a Mac. Each free workshop lasts three hours and are one week in length.
Disney Store Summer Days - (July 1 – September 1) enjoy free workshops & earn free prizes!
Free Building Workshops
Free Lowes Build and Grow Kids Clinic - Attend a Lowes Build and Grow Clinic where kids build projects to take home. Themes are usually aligned with upcoming holidays. Space is limited so be sure to register.
Free Home Depot Kids Workshops - Home Depot offers kids (5 – 12) workshops the first Saturday of every month between 9 – 12 pm. Kids get to keep their craft and receive a Free Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
