SUMMER FREEBIES FOR KIDS
Summer is the best time to get out and about and participate in all the activities that you may not have the opportunity to get to during the school year. If you are like my family, our schedules are so full of music lessons and other activities that we do not have much time for FUN activities. We try to select ONE FUN activity a week and the best part - - they are FREE!!

FREE Summer Activities For Kids
KidsBowlFree DOT com - Register your kids for two free games of bowling all summer long at lanes across the country at select bowling centers. Standard shoe rental rates apply.
AMF & Brunswick Bowling - Register at AMF Bowling for an AMF Summer Bowling Pass for a bowling pass for kids this summer for the low price of $31.95 to $34.95 (depending on Center). Passes are good for weekdays from open until 8 pm, and on weekends from open until 6 pm through September 2.
KidsSkateFree DOT com - Register your kids for coupons to skate free all summer long at rinks across the country. We did this for YEARS before our local skating rink closed.
FREE SUMMER DAY CAMPS
MICROSOFT FREE Summer Camp - Select Microsoft locations are hosting summer camps for kids. Creative Coding, Gaming, create video games and STEM Saturdays. Register early.
Apple Summer Camps - Select Apple Retail stores hold summer camps where kids can learn to code, make movies, create photo slideshows, write and record songs, put on a show for everyone, and learn how to do new things on a Mac. Each free workshop lasts three hours and is one week in length. Plus a free t-shirt. My kids have done this for several years and these apple summer camps are awesome - and FREE!!
Free Family Summer Events at Bass Pro Shop/ Cabela’s - Free workshops at Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s in various locations and regions of the USA in June and July. Workshops start Thursday and Saturday, NOON, 1PM, 2 PM and 3PM Sunday, 1PM, and 2PM.
FREE SUMMER CRAFTS & WORKSHOPS
Free Lowes Build and Grow Kids Clinic - Attend a Lowes Build and Grow Clinic where kids build projects to take home. Themes are usually aligned with the upcoming holidays. Space is limited so be sure to register ahead. Clinics take about 15-30 minutes. Check-in by 11:00am. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free Home Depot Kids Workshops - Home Depot offers children ages 5-12 hands-on workshops the first Saturday of every month between 9 am – 12 pm. Kids get to keep their craft and receive a Free Kids Workshop Apron. These workshops in my area are always PACKED with children, so arrive early or on time and remember to register first.
Michaels - Find free craft projects on various days throughout the month at your local Michael’s. Projects, dates, and prices vary by location.
Lakeshore Learning Center - Free craft projects for kids every Saturday from 11 – 3 pm. I took my children to our local Lakeshore Learning Center for years. I mean years! My kids LOVE LLC.
FREE SUMMER FIREWORKS
FREE FIREWORKS DISPLAY: Navy Pier hosts free fireworks every Saturday night. In fact, during the summer months, Navy Pier shoots off fireworks on Wednesday evening as well. Around 10:15 PM on these two evenings, all summer long until Labor Day.
FREE SUMMER MOVIES
FREE MOVIES in the PARK: Movies in Chicago area parks are FREE all summer long hosted by the Chicago Park District. From Millenium Park to Free Movies at Navy Pier.
FREE SUMMER MUSEUMS
FREE Museum Admission - Bank of America cardholders can get free general admission to 150 museums nationwide the first full weekend of each month. Check to see what museums are free near you on their participant roster. Simply present your Bank of America credit /debit card and a photo ID on the first full weekend of every month for one free general admission.

ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO: Museum admission is free for Chicago teens under the age of 18. Admission to the Art Institute of Chicago is free to Illinois residents every Thursday evening from 5-8 pm.
PEGGY NOTEBAERT NATURE MUSEUM: Thursdays are suggested donation days for Illinois residents year-round. Illinois teachers are admitted for free with guests.
ILLINOIS HOLOCAUST MUSEUM & EDUCATION CENTER: June 10, July 10, August 10
LINCOLN PARK ZOO : Lincoln Park Zoo is FREE all year long! Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the very last FREE zoos in the USA. Lincoln Park Zoo covers more than 35 acres and features over 230 species of animal.

MAGGIE DALEY PARK PLAY GARDEN: Maggie Daley Park and Play Garden is SO MUCH FUN! My kids beg to go to Maggie Daley Park! MDP is located just east of Millenium Park, so just walk right over after you have splashed a bit there.
MILLENNIUM PARK : Splash in the Crown Fountain on hot summer days, visit the Cloud Gate AKA: The Bean, catch-free concerts through Millennium Park Summer Music Series and free summer movie all summer at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and remember to walk through Lurie Gardens. They even host FREE workouts on Tues, Thurs, and Sat mornings on the Great Lawn.
FREE SUMMER BEACHES
FREE CHICAGO BEACHES: Lake Michigan runs for 26 miles along with Chicago and there are 25 FREE beaches you can spend the day soaking up the sun and playing in the sand with your families. There is North Avenue Beach, Oak Street Beach, 12th Street Beach (this is the beach we regularly visit) Montrose Beach, South Shore Beach, or 20 others to chose from.
