Apple Picking on a Glorious Fall Day

Every year I take the children apple picking at a local orchard that has become our absolute favorite. Favorite apples, favorite fun spot, favorite donuts! It is a family outing that my kids look forward to every year and our day there never disappoints. The weather in Chicago has been all over the map lately. We will have a close to 80 degree weather and then the next couple of days the temperature will plummet and we are all bundling up in hats and coats. Thankfully, the day we decided to go to the apple orchard was GLORIOUS!! The orchard is charming, inviting and always makes for an fantastic day.

Have you visited an apple orchard this fall? What do you do with all your apples? As the apple bags are getting smaller and smaller each year and my children are getting bigger and bigger . . . I don't really have extra apples to do much with! We are almost completely through with our five bags of apples from the orchard!
