Ringing in 2012 with the Juicy Truth
Happy New Year, Everyone.
Are you making resolutions? (Have you broken them already?) I'm terrible at making them and terrible at keeping them. I prefer to simply make a nice long list and leave it at that. I'm not going to make a list of changes or resolutions for me to complete in 2012. Just a simple list of "to do", it's sort of cheating saying I'm going to resolve something if it is on my list of to-dos right?
This year I WILL continue to recycle more, be more patient with my children, realize I am not perfect, be gracious AND kind, play with my kids more, worry less, laugh more, and shoot my camera on manual more.
This year I WON'T complain, judge, be so hard on myself, stand up for myself more, talk bad about myself, shy away from making new friends, get out of my little comfort box, talk to more people (simply saying hello doesn't count), stay up until 2 AM!
This year I resolved not to change the idea that I need to experiment more with my camera. I want to be more daring, and more challenging. I want to change the idea that I am just a mom with a camera taking photos of my children. I want to expand my knowledge and learn and grow. With experimentation comes failure and mistakes. Some stuff just doesn’t work. I need to not be afraid that I am going to make mistakes and have failures along this path. With the failures, I need to remember to not scurry back to my comfort zone. No risk, no reward, right?
Wishing you all much love, laughter, health, and happiness in 2012.
